Good Morning! Thorp Schools completed a Secure and Teach Drill around 10:30am. Todays drill scenario was a medical emergency involving the Grinch who's heart was too small and needed some holiday cheer. Thank you to our students and staff for their quick and efficient response!

🇺🇸Thorp Community Church Pastor, Roger McCune, received a Quilt of Valor recently for his service to our country. We join the community in sending him our respect and gratitude.
❤️Roger delivers food to Thorp School every week from the Cle Elum C.O.A.L. program to help support several of our students on the weekends.
❤️Roger joins other community members every Monday morning in front of the school to pray for our students and staff.
❤️We are so thankful to Pastor Roger for his service to our country, his continued service to our community, and his long standing dedication to Thorp School. He is a true hero!

You might notice a new face on the far left!
We're excited to introduce our new school nurse, Dorothy White, RN! 👋 Some of you may recognize her from KVH. 😊 She's excited to join our school community and get to know all of our amazing students and families. 🍎
Nurse Dorothy will be at the school two days a week. 👩⚕️ If your child has any health concerns, please don't hesitate to contact her at nurse@thorpschools.org
Let's all give her a warm welcome!

No school today in observance of Veterans Day 🇺🇸
Thorp School District would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all of the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country!
On Thursday we held an all school assembly. We would like to send a special thank you to Mr. Andrew Perkins, Mr. Joe Tirey, and Mr. Chris Heroine for guest speaking to our students, families, and community.
We also would like to share our veteran dedication:
"We have a very special guest with us today, please help me in welcoming and honoring Barbara Arrowsmith Schober. Thank you, Barbara, for your service and dedication to our country and for breaking barriers for women in the military. Barbara is 100 years young! Your bravery and perseverance have paved the way for future generations of servicewomen. Barbara marched in the Nimitz Day Parade on October 9, 1945 in New York City. She also worked at Arlington Cemetery and was an Administrative Assistant to the Adjutant General. Semper Fi!"
We hope you spend time today honoring and thanking those who have made, and continue to make, sacrifices for our country ❤️🤍💙
One way you can support our veterans is giving back! Ms. Willette's 4th grade class started a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project. They have a goal to raise $500! Please visit their fundraising page and donate if you can!

We are experiencing technical issues with our calendar feature. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working to restore it as soon as possible.

The Thorp School District has concluded our "Secure and Teach" protocols. Normal activities have resumed. We thank our students, staff, and community for their cooperation and our first responders for their support in maintaining a safe environment.

The Thorp School District is initiating a "Secure and Teach" protocol at the request of law enforcement following an incident in Cle Elum. This measure is only precautionary. We appreciate our strong partnership with first responders in ensuring the safety of our school community.

The case of the disappearing potatoes!
Our kitchen mashed 75 pounds of homegrown potatoes for today’s lunch, and the kids gobbled loved them up along with some delicious turkey and gravy!
We love vegetables from our own school garden and the kids love knowing that they had a hand in growing and harvesting what they eat 🙌🏻
